My experience as an ESL student in Vancouver.

I decided to study in Vancouver because I was told it was a good city to stay. In addition, I could find there several schools that offered me a full time program including TOEFL classes. However, I didn’t know whether my English would improve as I expected (at least as the improvement I would have got if I had studied in my country).

Now, after experiencing the student live in Vancouver, I can say: it was fantastic! Not only I improved my English proficiency but also I met many people from different countries, knew different cultures, visited beautiful places and had a lot of fun.

I must also say that I could go to Vancouver without any problem and really enjoy my stay because VanEnglishSports helped me to find a good school and a very nice home stay.

My English courses –Conversation and TOEFL– were very good. My teachers and the staff really helped me in any trouble I had and provided me with any information I needed. I met people from Poland, Korea, Brazil, Switzerland, Japan, China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and other countries, and learned a lot of very interesting things about their culture.

I stayed with a Canadian family (home stay) who treated me like part of them. Although I had to speak English everyday, it was not hard because they helped me at anytime I needed. This was the best way to practice my spoken English when I was not at school.

In short, it worths the trouble to go to Vancouver because Vancouver is beautiful! There are many beaches and lakes to visit. The atmosphere is nice. You can go to dance, the movies or sightseeing. (I did all of that!). You will improve your English proficiency and have a very nice stay.

If I have a little bit of good luck, I will meet you in Vancouver because I really want to come back there on my next vacation.

Sincerely,

Jesus Bravo (Mexico)

"Hi, my name is Reto. I spent my last summer in Vancouver. In the mornings I went to an ESL-course at the Western Town College. In the afternoons I just enjoyed my free time in this beautiful city. If you are interested as well to spend some months in Van to improve your English, don't hesitate to contact me! My advice is for free!"
